Day 4 – Speed Update!

Just got back from a lovely evening out for dinner and Saving Mr. Banks with a good friend, which was delightful, though after chatting with the hubby on the phone for an hour, leaves little time for updating. So I’ll keep this brief!

WRITING PROJECT: In a world where wars are waged in shadow and the separation between man and machine is shrinking by the day, a war-droid wielding cyborg-girl begins a secret battle against those who would control her and destroy the only chance of a future she’s ever had.

Working Title: Shadow Games: Book 1 of the Shadow Engines duology
Added Words: 952
Total Words (to date): 90,800

Happening Today in the World of Fiction!: Bro vs. bro action! Split sutures! Internal bleeding! Hints of a confession, and an abrupt arrest!

Notes: Didn’t get a whole lot of new words down for this, but finished a long-standing scene that’s been dragging its heels, so it definitely counts as progress. One more scene, and this chapter will be a wrap, which leaves only a handful more before it’s all wrapped up for the first draft! Crazy!

EDITING PROJECT: Ghosts and legends and Bluebeard, oh my! The cold Maine coastline! Haunted grounds! Ribbons and bitter, ghostly wives! Dueling secrets! True love? Perhaps!

Current Editing Project: Nobody Here But Us Monsters
Accomplished in Edits: Hammered out a surprising 1,300+ words on this rewrite, which felt great, even if I’m pretty sure I’ll need to trim this scene back, since it’s not weighted properly compared to the other scenes, but *that’s* for Draft #3. :)
