Well, I knew the time would come when I hit The Wall, and it came tonight. Though it sounds much worse than it is, it really just means I’ve hit the point beyond which I haven’t really hammered out how things work up to midpoint. The main pinch point I was working up to I don’t think is going to serve me as well as I’d hoped, so I need to rethink what happens in Act II as a whole, and what happens to my protagonist up to midpoint. I’ve got some good questions to lead the thinking process, so at least for today and possibly tomorrow–depending on how things go–there may be little word-count progress, but hopefully lots of thinking progress. Still, it’s always a bummer to be cruising along so nicely only to hit a concrete wall. Knew it was coming, braced myself a bit, but damn if I didn’t still smack into it hard enough!
