WELP, I’m pretty sure this 1k is going straight from my brain and into the wastebasket. I did do some pretty extensive thinking last night, and I do think I’m on to something for what comes next, but trying to get the juices flowing tonight was wretched. Every word was torture, and I could tell it was crap (lots of “frowned” and “silence” and “sighed”–it’s awful). It’s days like this that I miss having the mental space during the day to stew on story issues. I may need to tweak something earlier in the draft to make it suit one character better (it feels a bit out of character at the moment), but that’ll mean complicating the chapter I’m working on–which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but rawr. I just want to get cranking again! But that said, the mind work is a big part of it, so I know it’s not necessarily something I can rush. It will be what it will be, and I just need to percolate on it for a bit. I’m just hoping tomorrow is less painful.

P.S.- Oh, apparently, I also sold a story! Surprise! It may be a while until it comes out, though, so I’ll give more details at that time. But it’s always nice to hear somebody wants something you’ve written. :) #icingonpoopcake #stillgood #hashtagscrazy
