Day 50: The Missing Scene

In Which Our Heroine Learns of Some Unpleasant Hypocrisy

Project Title: The Mistress of Frosthaven
Genre: YA – Dark Fantasy
Words Today: 1,527
Running Total: 16,478
Scrap Draft: (V1.0 = 31,142), V2.0 = 8,368

Scrapped–temporarily–the scene I wrote yesterday, as I’m just much more smitten with the pacing of another version I plotted for earlier. SO! Today, I realized I’d missed a meeting the main character was supposed to have before the doctor’s arrival, so I started Chapter 5 with that, and it seems to have worked relatively well. I’m worrying a bit that this entire thread may not be so important to the overall story, but for now I’ll see it through, and if it becomes clear it’s got no legs, I’ll chop it mercilessly. But I do like that it shows a different side of my character Cordie, so we’ll see what the Girls think after deliberating on it tonight. Should be able to salvage a lot of the scene from yesterday, so I’m not too disheartened by the nearly 2k scrap, and in the end, I think it’ll smooth out the pacing.

GOOD GREIF, but do I want to clear 20k sometime soon, though! Progress has been steady–if a bit slow–and I’m very happy with what I’ve got up to now, but I’d still like to say I recooped all that was lost at the end of February by the end of March, but we shall just have to take it one step at a time.

Also! If you or someone you know is looking for a fantastic voice actor or for some technical support work, do look up my friend Kevin Powe–he’s had some tricky life circumstance things swing his way recently, and is available for freelance work.
