So it’s finally the weekend (thank youuuuuu!) and I’m so excited to have time to myself. Work was fine this week–busy, but not as insane as last week, so good! Now, I’m hanging out with Andy and Kaku and later we’re heading out to do who knows what. At the moment, they’re playing NEED FOR SPEED: Most Wanted, which is awesome, I must say.
And we finally have our car registered in Oregon! We’re official Oregonians now! HAHAHAHA! One more thing to cross off our perpetual “to-do” list.
I’m hungry. I want a snack. Hmmm…. *goes to unlock stash of Girl Scout Cookies*
Writing Stuff:
Powerplay today! Since Andy needed the car in order to register it, I ended up at work an hour before I had to start. This meant a whole hour to write! And I actually did! ^_^ Grand total for today tops out at 1,600 words, which isn’t as much as perhaps it should have been, but it’s more than I’ve been able to crank out in a single day for a while. I’m still examining my schedule to figure out precisely when I can fit more writing time in, because I’m aching to get more accomplished. Hoping to set down some time this weekend, but I’m not going to lie: Grand Theft Auto is going to dominate at least an hour or two, since I haven’t had time to play it all week.
But it’s on my to-do list this weekend–get cranking on this novella and see if I can move it squarely toward a climax. Current word count is upper 18k range. It now has a title, though!: “A Maze of Invisible Walls”. Light fantasy, semi-industrial age. Needs a lot of work once I finish the rough draft, but there are moments when I feel like it really clicks.
Also going to look at a final polish over “The Road to Ki’o Ahi”, and I’m hoping to plan out the itineraries for the revised “Blood Junkie” and “The Tinselmaster’s Extended Ten-Day.” These are the only works I’m subbing right now (until I hear back about “Earthbound” and then “Mimicry” is heading out–both are queued up on a particular venue).
This week I made my to-do list of specific writing-related goals. I’ve got some books to read, submissions to get out, writing to do. You know, the usual. But it’s nice to have them written down where I can cross them off. ^_^
need for speed is an awesome game!!! :)
