Ordinary-Land

Today in Mommy-Land

Ordinary day, aside from playing with water in buckets (supervised, of course), and then a much-needed bath. Otherwise, pretty status-quo. Few minor (<30 min) naps, two of them on me.

Today in Writer-Land

Surprised by how far I’ve gotten through Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki so far–almost 200 pages in! Given the somewhat sporadic reading time, that’s not too bad. Got a bit of hand-written writing started, which was delightful. Still need to plug away at the current WiP, though, so maybe I’ll set aside (if I can) some time tomorrow to get back into the swing of things. It is challenging after a long weekend, particularly when the hubby’s home, because due to the current long-distance situation, I want to spend as much time as I can with him when he’s around. Thankfully, this won’t be an issue in three weeks (hopefully ever again, but we’ve still got one rotation location pending).

I will say this though: getting to spend time with those I love is absolutely worth not-writing during that time. I could never go long without writing, but in the future I hope I can schedule myself so that weekends are always guilt-free for family.
