Giving myself a sick day. I knew it was inevitable, but the flowing crud that the hubby and Bug had earlier this past week has finally caught up with me, hand sanitizer be damned. It’s not so bad that I couldn’t probably push through–I’m sure better writers than me would!–but one of the tenents I’m trying to cultivate in my writing practice is an enjoyment of the process itself, I’m going to cut myself some slack. I’m well on my way to making up the words I scrapped last month, and have more often than not written beyond the requesite 1000 words per day that I settled on as my pace, so I’m not badly positioned. I’m confident looking at my revised outline that I’ll definitely hit End Act I by the end of the month easily, and that’s when I get to some of the chapters I’ve already written that just need a rework with the new background details adjusted, so that should make up some decent time, I’m hoping.
Either way *cough* *cough* I’m signing off for the night. If you can’t give yourself a sick day now and then, what’s the fun of being your own boss, ammiright?
