Day 64: Mining Words

In Which Our Hero Jumps a Ravine

Project Title: The Mistress of Frosthaven
Genre: YA – Dark Fantasy
Words Today: 2,103
Running Total: 34,918
Scrap Draft: (V1.0 = 31,142), V2.0 = 8,368

Finally, FINALLY hit the segment I could essentially retype word-for-word from Version 1.0, tweaking it only slightly as I moved through it. It naturally fits the voice I’ve established, and swept along marvelously. (That incorporated about the second half of the 2k word count–much faster progress there!) WHICH MEANS, I’m finallyofficially, without any caveats at ALL, back to where I was at the end of February. I haven’t ever written past here before, so everything that comes next is brand spanking new (save for the fact that I’ve loosely outlined, but that’s it…) So glad to finally be back here, even though I’m nervous about pushing forward. I do still feel like I’m squarely on the right path, though, so I’m taking heart in that and pushing forward. Tomorrow: we tread new ground.
