Also, current Writing Goals 2008 check list:

– 3 out of 4 New short-fiction Rough Drafts
– 2 out of 4 Edited, prepped-for-sub Manuscripts
– 14 out of 30 Chapters for YA Zero-Draft (updated to 30 chapters due to the status of “summary draft”)

I’m actually doing a lot better than I thought I was. I’ve got a bunch of ideas, too, for new stories. Just have to punch one out so I can finish off the NEW STORIES requirement for the year. I’m currently polishing two other stories to fulfill the EDITED MANUSCRIPTS requirement, and the summary draft is moving along very well. I may even have time to go back and edit/adjust the draft when I’m done.

That summary draft will be my greatest triumph if I can pull this off. It’ll be far, far, far from perfect, but it’ll be the first time I’ve completed a useable draft of this novel, enabling me to move on to the other two. Even as simply a summary draft, it’s laying down the brickwork for the rest of the project development, and will let me step aside from it for a while and work on other projects. ^_^ Man, I hope I can do it!
