Forgot to add yesterday’s word count to the total, but got it in there today. 1.7k today, and although I was worried about picking up again after yesterday went so smoothly, today went quite well, too. The words poured out, and I think I’m finally (FINALLY) finding my voice when it comes to skipping over the boring-bits. I suspect this means I’ll have a lot of trimming to do in earlier segments, because good grief, nobody wants to hear about what each individual eyelid is doing when someone blinks. (Okay, I exaggerate, I’m not quite that bad, but I definitely get tunnel-vision from time to time and start wondering how to describe the manner in which someone closes their fist, which finger goes first, with what intensity, etc.–good grief, it’s boring when I’m writing it, too!)
I do think the fact that I’m on the last quarter is what’s happening. I can feel the ending, sense it’s approach, and I am SO READY to wrap up this rough draft. It helps me skip ahead, because I just want to GET THERE, and not waste time. Here’s to efficient–but not threadbare–speed.
