Apex Magazine, Journal, Writing

And the hunt continues…

So we’ve officially been in Portland for over a week now, and I’m glad to say that our rent got in just fine, so we at least have a place to live for the next month. XP

Still applying for jobs like a madwoman, and still not hearing much back. I guess things haven’t changed much since my father got out of college and tried to find a full-time job. It’d probably also be easier if I could hunt for a job and then _move_ to it’s prospective location like some of my friends have done, but we’re tied to this area for a while at least, and income is still nice to have. Needless to say, I’m worn out. Applying for jobs is, I think, worse than submitting fiction to editors. When you don’t hear back or they are kind enough to send you a flat-out “no,” these employers really are rejecting you personally, not a creative piece of questionable usefulness. It’s always just a bit of a bummer.

And I’d love to get a couch! But I can’t afford it. So for now, I’ll just have to watch TV on the floor, like we have been for the past week, and will continue to do so until I hopefully get a nibble on some job opportunity.

On the plus side, however, I’m having a blast as an Apex Editor. It’s really my niche. Remember, Brandy’s new book comes out soon, so make sure to reserve your copy before they’re gone!

Tired now… Should finish making dinner. ^_^
