Avoidance

It’s been one of those days. Maybe it’s because I know work is coming, and I won’t have all my time to myself. It’s just been very difficult to get anything really important done. I mean, I did get my morning writing done; I did get the house tidied up; but as for the things I really *should* get done due to the time constraint, that has been like pulling teeth to sit down and do it. It’s very exhausting doing anything and everything I can to procrastinate. Bah, it’s frustrating.

Writing Stuff

Tried a new technique today to haul in my aimlessness and actually write what needs to be written. It’s been tricky, because for now, this first section is a little more character-focused rather than high-tech action focused, which means I have to work to keep myself entertained (since I know these characters like the back of my hand and it all seems rather repetitive). It’s probably a failing on my part, but I’m trying to focus on getting better with every chapter, instead of demanding perfection on the first run-through. (And this isn’t including the 500 words I did in a summary draft to get the scene right. XP.)

Yesterday, I also got the next section of Chapter 16 for the Thief Dilemma done! WOW. Has it been long enough? I’m hoping to finish off the chapter next Saturday. (Why is this one so much easier to write than my wholly-original stuff? It’s not fair!)

  1. Hi, thanks for responding to my comment and sending me that email. I admire so much writers like yourself who have a set amount of time or words a day. It motivates me to create one myself, or at least to just write that instant!
You’re writing two novels at the same time?
What kind of things are you talking about when you say you “should” get done?
I hope you don’t mind me adding you to my blogroll! =)
